At issue in Harbor Software v. Applied Systems were computer software copyright and trade secret misappropriation claims. I helped prepare for trial, assisted at trial, and am currently assisting with the appeal, working with outside counsel, including Retired Second Circuit Judge George Pratt, author of the Altai decision; our case was the first to use the abstraction/filtration analysis required by Altai (one other court misapplied the analysis and was overturned on appeal).

You can review Applied Systems' Chairman of the Board Bob Eustace's article in the April 1997 Windows Magazine about the case and its potential effects on the software industry.
